Finance: A Week of Fun, A Week of Thank You's







A few days before service week, managers of the finance department brought anticipation to the hearts of each team member by personally inviting them to the next week’s celebration. The team received ‘thank you’ cards that contained the next week’s activities; activities to celebrate their service to the hotel.

Come Monday morning, the team was greeted with the smell of fresh coffee from the free-flowing coffee & tea station that will be prepared for them for the rest of the week. Afternoon snacks will also prepared and served every day this week.

On Tuesday morning, a family breakfast at McDonalds! This experience gave us an opportunity to walk, talk and eat breakfast as a family, in a different ‘out-of-office’ environment.

During the Wednesday coffee-break, we presented the team with video-clips that captured images of their moments at work. This is among the highlights of our service week celebration, it was a time to cheer and applaud each co-worker as he/she was flashed on-screen.

On Thursday and Friday, the finance team will surely experience a few more detractions from their typical day. Their managers promise more gastronomic surprises and raffle prizes before the week ends. A take-home CD awaits each member of the team on Friday; this way, memories from the celebration is theirs to keep!

DIG IN - SALES TEAM!!!



As the Sales and Marketing Team of Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Galleria Manila dig in to exceed the hotels’ budget, they also remember to “dig in” together and celebrate the 1st ever IHG Service Week with a blast!

On the first day of the celebration, the Sales Team excitedly went around giving out “heart pins” to the associates from different departments. This is their simple way of expressing their heart-felt thanks to all colleagues for always extending a helping hand for every “rush requests” and “small favors” needed by the team.

Mid-week of the celebration, it was the department heads’ turn to organize a surprise party for the team! In an afternoon of delight they have made the team feel that amidst client calls and paper works are hearts that appreciates.

Highlights of the surprise party includes the presentation of their “Habitat for Humanity” CSR activity rekindling that one special day when dressing down is a must and glam-look is a big no no, talking about digging the ground for once. There were also exchanges of thank you chocolate kisses among the team signifying inter-departmental appreciation to everyone’s worth.

To top it off, Friday was officially “Dig-in Chips Day” for everyone. Delivering pack loads of chips and smiles, the employees from every corner of the hotels savored to a wonderful day of commemorating service par excellence!

Hat's Off to Front Office





July 28, 2010 – The Front Office Department of Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila celebrated Service Week by having a party themed as “Hats Off to Front Office” in which all members must wear his or her most creative “hat” at the event. This is in tribute to the many hats the Front Office Team wears to make sure we deliver our core value – Great Hotels Guests Love. The party was hosted by Owen Alarcon, our Guest Services Supervisor and was attended by Ms. Brigitte Trattner – Area General Manager (Philippines), Mr. Frank Schoenherr, our Resident Manager who gave the opening remarks and Ms. Pearl Maclang, DOSM among others.

The event also included the Front Office Awards (FOA) to give recognition to some specific contributions of the members of the team, an impromptu acoustic performance by Allen Ojera, our Telephone Operator, a HAT Fashion Show, the launch of the Great Staff Guests Love Recognition For Front Office Staff and ended in a series of photo shoots.

Every one finished the party with smiles on their faces and most importantly, celebrating Service not only this week but every minute of every day….

Celebrate Service Week Opening Ceremonies










We have waited long enough, now is the time to deliver...and deliver they did. After weeks of planning, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila opens the Celebrate Service Week. Thanks to all the people and departments involved (specially Ms. Edna Al-Sharhan and the HR Team) in making this happen, our drive to appreciate our greatest asset - our people, has begun.

CP HI Celebrate Service Day 1: Kick-Off








Finally the wait is over. Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila launches Celebrate Service Week!

To kick-off the week long festivities our people were invited to a special town hall meeting just to celebrate the real stars of the company - the staff. We have a regular town hall meeting called GM Informs held every quarter. This installment was different because this is a celebration of what we consider to be the greatest asset of our company - our employees.

A great number of our people came to one of our function rooms to watch this global celebration unfold. The event started with the recognition of our new employees followed by our Winning Ways Superstars and IQ Awards.

Videos of Andy Coslett and other properties saying thank you was next with special song numbers from Rank and File awardees and Supervisor Awardees. A video of some of the guests saying thanks made some employees emotional. But the highlight of the event is the dance number from the Departments Heads which brought the house down.

The opening ceremonies had a raffle draw. Prizes like television sets and trip to properties outside the Philippines were given away to the delight of the employees. And to cap the event, we had food, food, food.
